Telecine Spirit HD

Barrandov Studios’ Film Laboratories brought its new Telecine Spirit HD film transfer facility into operation on March 15, 2009. This is the most contemporary transfer facility of its kind in the Czech Republic. As well as the ability to transfer all standard film formats to a wide range of digital carriers (up to the highest HD standards), thanks to the high level of professionalism and long-term experience on the part of our operators this facility also offers color corrections of the highest quality.

Lights! Camera! Prague!

Barrandov Studios introduced the exhibit titled Lights! Camera! Prague! within the framework of the Czech presidency over the Council of the European Union. The exhibit runs from January 27 to February 8, 2009 and presents photographs from international film projects shot at Prague's Barrandov Studios, where the creative ideas of personalities such as Milos Forman, Terry Gilliam, Roman Polanski, Nikita Michalkov, and Guillermo del Toro have come to life.

The Tudors

The third cycle of the award-winning successful Irish television series “The Tudors” is yet again garbed by the Barrandov Studios Costumes and Props Department. Pictured in the photo are Joan Bergin together with Vera Kratka from Barrandov’s Costumes and Props Department. Joan Bergin is Ireland’s most well-known costume designer and has won two Emmy Awards, specifically for the first two seasons of “The Tudors” – the first time in history that the same serial received an award two years in a row. She has also been nominated for the CDG Awards for Tudors III.

Barrandov Studios is improving the environment available for shooting commercials. A textile key backdrop system - variable color screen, has been installed on Stage No. 1. With its dimensions it is one of the largest permanently installed green screens in the Czech Republic. It is available in several color options (green, blue, white, or black), a color change can be made very quickly. The vertical section can be also stretched into a "U" shape or an "L" shape.
