Production of new TV historical serial BORGIAS has begun at Barrandov Studios. 12 episode series is based on the story of famous Spanish family, which became one of the most powerful in Italy during Renaissance. Produced by French Atlantique Productions and co-produced by German AOS and Czech Etic Films will be all filmed in Czech Republic. There will be three directors working on the project – first four parts will be directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel. The cameraman will be Ousama Rawi who also worked on TV series “The Tudors”. Our Set Department is building the interior of Sistine Chapel, pope´s bedroom and library in Apostolic Palace and halls and rooms for priests. On the backlot will grow St. Peter's Square and Pisa´s street.

Czech Government Confirms 20% Film Rebate
The Government of Czech Republic has approved on its meeting on 3 May Compliment to the Film Industry Support Program. Detailed information about the program is to be published today on the web page of the Ministry of Culture: http://www.ppfpen.cz/.
Once formal notification from the European Commission is obtained, producers will be entitled to apply for the 20% rebate of their expenses spent after 1 January 2010. They will have to present their application within two weeks after the notification.

Burnt by the Sun II has been selected for the competition in Cannes. Nikita Michalkov´s movie shot in the Czech Republic and Prague will be contesting for the Golden Palm.
